Welcome to our gallery!
This page showcases all of the incredible activities and achievements our students have experienced from reward trips to practical lessons. We aim to create an engaging environment that fosters curiosity and growth in all aspects of our students' education.

Opie Portraits
Our students and teachers created self-portraits in the style of Julian Opie - a British artist known for his bold and simplified designs that reduce faces to clean lines, bright colours, and minimal details. We used bright watercolours which have made these portraits the vibrant centre piece of our Hub.
Take a look and see if you can spot who's who!

Wallings Reward Trip 2025
In May, a well-deserved reward trip took a group of our teachers and students to Wallings Ice Cream Parlour—a much-loved tradition at New Beginnings. Each year, we treat our hardworking students and teachers to ice creams as big as their heads! After much suspense and several pep talks, one brave student faced their greatest fear — and finally stroked one of the residing goats. Legend has it that they’re ‘pen’-pals now. But the real challenge? Everyone containing their excitement long enough to plan the perfect two-scoop combo. We're happy to report that no ice cream was dropped, and everyone left with full tummies and sugar-fuelled smiles!

Science Practical
At New Beginnings, our budding scientists moved the 'lab' outside on a rare sunny day in Preston. With the sun blazing and the perfect combination of snacks, they practiced the art of using the bunsen burner to investigate the calorific content of crisps. This was all under the careful supervision of our science specialist. Rest assured, no eyebrows were singed in the pursuit of science.

Spooky Snacks
Halloween was the perfect excuse to make some spooky snacks in food technology. From ghostly strawberries with chocolate faces to skeleton marshmallows that were almost too cute to eat (almost!), the students demonstrated the ability to follow a recipe to make snacks perfect for a monster with a sweet tooth.

DIY Bookcases
In September, New Beginnings moved to our new Hub in Preston and with our large collection of teen novels, we needed a place to store them. This required the recruitment of our students and teachers who joined forces to tackle the ultimate DIY challenge - the flat pack bookcase! After deciphering the very vague instructions, they successfully turned a pile of planks into the perfect home for our books. They left the lesson with a new appreciation for IKEA engineers and a proud sense of accomplishment.
